Food & Drink

Here at El Palmeral we do our best to do justice to the gastronomical variety here in Spain. There are so many regions, each with their own specialities,

Spain is famous for many things such as the long lazy sunny days, the balmy evening relaxation, the excellent nightlife, the peace and quiet in the siesta, but this vibrant country is also very well-known for its delicious food.

Spanish cuisine has its own charm, surprising visitors through colour, diversity and incredible fusion of tastes, and in a relatively short time, Julie has gained a locally-endorsed reputation of producing cuisine of the highest quality.

The best thing you can do is to visit us and enjoy the experience, but in the meantime here’s a few examples of the best of the best! Each of these foods tells a story, reminding us of some great moments spent in El Palmeral and we hope they will become some beautiful memories for you, too.

The Wine List

We have a really exciting range of excellent wines from the Jumilla, Yecla and Alicante regions, all within 30-40 miles or so of El Palmeral. We add to that a selection of the best wines from other areas of Spain, including Rioja and Rueda, as well as some beautifully crisp Cavas.

Although the bar is compact, we offer most standard beers and a range of spirits such as Gin, Vodka, Bacardi, Brandy as well as a special selection of single malts.

There are some local favourites to be sampled, such as Sangria, Tinto de Verano, Soberano (a smooth Spanish brandy) and the local favourite Anis, both dulce and seco.

The quick bar menu can be downloaded here if you want a sneak preview of all we have on offer, and our value prices, but it is worth bearing in mind that we are constantly seeking to improve the menu, so there may be additional ‘specials’ when you arrive.
